Go wine fair is something that every wine lover should do some time in their life is recommend as a wine tourism activity. Once a year, the show makes you want and you can visit, arrange logistics and you long. If everyone did this the world of wine would take a more human.
I know, this proposal is impossible beyond a certain degree. But I propose to begin. There are shows that will make it more safe, others you do but because they are so imposibe professionals are bored or need to know someone to take you to the first fiestecilla.
Last Wednesday I went to Bio Millésime in Montpellier. And it really was a moment of happiness. As a trade show where there were always going to Japanese buyers what they were, you could stay talking to the winemakers a good time. All with love and pride present their creations in a very large room where there were 500 producers who make wines presented with care, with productions that do not exceed the 20 or 30 thousand bottles to make a craftsmanship that ensures product quality and respect for their consumers.
So walking through the halls of Millesime Bio was hearing about the many ways to undertake a craft from the vineyard and with the least possible intervention of exogenous factors from tractors to yeast.
And hear about positive surprise with Japanese buyers specializing in organic wine, from agriculture or ecological biodynamic practices (sorry do not systematically the differences between all of them), which represent increasingly better opportunities to craft this way, more risky and passionate winemaking.
What I enjoyed in definitva, was the feeling of being at a trade show, where some sell and others buy, anyway manages to keep the warmth and spirit of the viñerón Jodon artisans. I also enjoyed London or Bordeaux, but was away, rather environment suit and tie and product representatives will be what they are. And if I quite, quite macho. Not so the natural wine fairs, where anyway and now commands the male sensitivity.
Complaints about how hard it is to move always wine in Spain. But this time I prefer to stay with the positive. The recommendation to go wine fairs airs we put our heads and in front of people staying. The realization that the world of natural wine of biodynamic procendencia consolidates and grows. And according to the halls also sounds more and more wine producers seeking to convert to biodynamics and more balanced, natural harmonics occur as an act of love to life.
I think it's a lovely way to start the year traveling ...
Here's to the viñerón and travel through the world of wine:)
